Position Overview

We are looking to bring on a Senior Vice President, Engineering, to continue to build and lead our engineering team. In this role, you will work directly with our C-Level executives and serve in a key leadership role as an operational expert driving Beyond Limits towards accomplishing our engineering goals. You will have overall responsibility for driving the delivery of engineering and innovation processes and the development of new technologies, services, and systems. You will also serve as a key member of Technology leadership team and will oversee our engineering operations to ensure that we meet our technology productivity, growth and financial objectives.

You will work in partnership with our C Level leadership team on our strategic technical plan. You will collaborate closely with other key internal partners, including our Group CTO, our CPO, our CTO, Industrial AI and our CTO, Unstructured Data Intelligence for effective resource and execution planning. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in providing strong leadership and execution capability to the engineering function responsible for delivering on our technology requirements.

Position Duties

  • Development, management, and execution of the technical engineering plan including budget, schedule, people management, and prioritization of engineering tasks
  • Responsible (with CTOs) for communications on the progress of our different programs internally and with Board of Directors/Investors
  • Work closely with internal partners to create and gain coalescence behind a robust and actionable technology strategy and road-map
  • Builds strategies to ensure operational effectiveness of the tech team, including establishing overall direction, needed future capabilities to support execution
  • Strengthen and provide leadership to the talent base within the engineering organization, creating opportunities for growth and development of the engineering team
  • Maintain appropriate technology documentation, design standards, and related material specifications are developed
  • Assure that efforts to improve the efficiency of the tech engineering teams are emphasized through creative organizational management, effective use of engineering tools, appropriate training and continuous improvement
  • Take an active role in identifying key engineering processes and implement operating standards that drive consistency and organizational improvements across the department
  • Provide oversight on the execution of new technology requirements, prototype qualification test requirements and to resolve technology performance deficiencies
  • Lead a global team of highly talented technical and professional engineers to assure that current product support, future technology development and technical support for customers are addressed
  • Align with our CPO on our product road-map and engineering interdependencies
  • Ensure test capabilities are aligned to program and product needs and ensure cost effective and schedule effective utilization of assets
  • Ensure high technical competence of the engineering team is maintained and developed
  • Ensure current and accurate costing in conjunction with Finance
  • Establish overall engineering budget

Position Requirements

  • 15+ years of engineering design with success in development and commercialization of technology,
  • 10+ years of management/leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant field
  • Business-driven technology leader who has a successful background in program execution
  • Demonstrated track record of executing on a technology road-map and vision in a pragmatic manner
  • Seasoned leader with a track record of building a collaborative and highly engaged culture with other leaders and teams
  • Significant experience in assessing talent needs, managing performance with a high sense of accountability
  • Proven ability to execute technology development and process improvement
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire and engage a team of highly professional and technical engineering professionals to greater levels of collaboration, development and performance globally
  • Building a function scaling, preferably within a high growth environment
  • Strong experience building and executing operational plans from a longer-term technology vision
  • Ability to communicate effectively across various constituent groups including employees, vendors, executive teams and board members
  • Considerable experience managing through complex engineering challenges, leveraging internal talent and available resources
  • Demonstrated capability to develop processes and technology platforms to be driven across a diversified group of stakeholders and internal teams
This position is located in our Glendale, CA headquarters and is eligible to participate in the company's hybrid 3/2 work model.



The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is listed below as a yearly salary. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or company stock options may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
