Position Overview

Beyond Limits is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering AI software projects in Hong Kong (HK). As a TPM, you will play a key role in coaching teams, leading customer communications, fostering collaboration, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple projects concurrently, overseeing their entire lifecycle with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Act as the primary liaison for our customers in Hong Kong, fostering strong relationships and attending project meetings as necessary to address any concerns or issues.
  • Make critical decisions regarding project deliverables in accordance with contractual obligations, guiding development efforts towards successful completion.
  • Partner with Sales, Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers across APAC, EMEA, and the US, in delivering AI software solutions to our valued customers in Hong Kong, adapting work hours to accommodate global time zones when necessary.
  • Leverage fluency in both English and Cantonese to foster effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders across linguistic divides, ensure customers and internal stakeholder expectations are aligned.
  • Apply robust project management methodologies to determine the most suitable approach for project delivery, balancing requirements and constraints effectively.
  • Apply a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle to guide projects from inception to deployment, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Possess a profound understanding of the nuances between cloud-based and on-premises software development paradigms to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Establish detailed project schedules and milestones in alignment with contract terms, ensuring consensus among all stakeholders.
  • Regularly provide comprehensive progress reports to both clients and internal management, highlighting achievements, addressing challenges, and identifying potential business opportunities.
  • Serve as an expert in Scrum methodologies, adeptly fulfilling roles as both Scrum Master and Product Owner to drive project momentum and ensure agile delivery.
  • Utilize familiarity with industry-standard project tracking and version control tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket to optimize project management processes.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, conveying project details accurately to stakeholders at all levels within Beyond Limits, including technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Proactively resolve any day-to-day project issues, whether they arise within internal teams or with external clients, to maintain project momentum and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Configure and maintain project management tools for internal teams, optimizing workflows and enhancing productivity.
  • Develop and enforce robust security policies to safeguard customer data and project deliverables, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Share best practices and project management methodologies within the PMO team, actively contributing to the continuous improvement of PMO processes and standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software project management experience for government, public sectors, or large enterprises, including 2+ years of experience in AI.
  • Proven track record of leading global teams to deliver AI software solutions.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese.
  • Authorized to work in Hong Kong.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Practical experience in Scrum as both Scrum Master and Product Owner.
  • Familiarity with project tracking and version control tools such as Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of cloud and on-premises software development differences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional Certification, Certified Project Management Professional, Graduate Certificates in Project Management, or Agile Project Management Certifications.
  • BS or MS (preferred) in Computer Science or closely related degree.
  • Fluent in Mandarin.
