Beyond Limits, a leading developer of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, today announced it has made a $12,000.00 donation to the Astros Foundation and the Astros Youth Academy, with $500.00 donated for every homerun hit over the prominent Beyond Limits sign on the left-field wall this 2019 season. A total of 24 homeruns were hit over the sign, with slugger Alex Bregman in the lead with 6 homeruns. Jose Altuve scored 4, with contributions from other Astros including George Springer with 3, Aledmys Diaz and Yordan Alvarez with 2 apiece, and Yuli Gurriel, Tony Kemp, Josh Reddick, and Robinson Chirinos with 1 homer each.
The Astros Foundation is the official 501(c)(3) team charity of the Houston Astros. They seek to harness the passion of baseball fans to support youth baseball and softball programs, the recognition/honor of the nation’s military, childhood cancer awareness and efforts to reduce homelessness. Their cornerstone initiatives include the Community Leaders program, the Astros MLB Youth Academy and the Astros RBI Program (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities).
The Astros MLB Youth Academy provides free baseball and softball leagues, instructional camps, tutoring, and career development resources for kids ages 7-17. The Astros MLB Youth Academy also offers critical social services for local youth, including education, sports involvement, and career development.
“As a corporate sponsor of the Houston Astros we are proud to support the valuable work they do for the Houston community through the Astros Youth Academy (AYA),” said Trey Fleming, Global Client Executive & Sports Science Business Leader at Beyond Limits. “The life lessons young players learn through the AYA will follow them far beyond the baseball or softball diamond, and in many cases will directly contribute to their success on and off the field.”

Advisory relationship with Caltech/JPL includes working at the cutting edge of AI technology
Beyond Limits, a leading developer of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, today announced its CEO AJ Abdallat has joined the Board of Advisors for the Center for Autonomous Systems and Technologies (CAST) at Caltech.
CAST is a facility where researchers and machines work together and learn from each other. CAST is involved in cutting edge research, including but not limited to: robotics, drones, next-generation AI algorithms and image processing.
Beyond Limits is transforming proven space and defense technologies from NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense into innovative solutions that address the emerging AI markets. These technologies were developed by a team of engineers at Caltech/Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) over the last two decades and were funded by NASA and the Department of Defense to address their complex and far-reaching problems. Beyond Limits has worked with Caltech for several years.
“I’m honored to join the advisory board of CAST,” said Beyond Limits CEO AJ Abdallat. “Our organizations share the same pursuit of knowledge to advance AI in the fields of drone research, autonomous exploration, bio-inspired systems and more.”
In serving on the Board, Abdallat will share Beyond Limits’ vast pool of AI knowledge with CAST. Beyond Limits combines symbolic AI techniques with numeric approaches like machine learning, plus encoded human knowledge to produce Cognitive AI systems that think like human experts. Conventional “black box” approaches like machine learning, deep learning or neural networks cannot explain their reasoning, but Beyond Limits AI delivers clear explanations of its reasoning in transparent, evidence-based audit trails that both humans and machines can understand.

Beyond Limits builds cognitive AI systems that interpret vast amounts of data from disparate sources to produce actionable information. For example, historical patient data, lab results, chart notes, real-time sensor monitoring, evidence-based clinical guidelines, and drug interactions, etc., can be interpreted by the system to better understand and personalize treatment suggestions.
Because medical decisions are important and frequently expensive, an AI system must be able to explain its thought process and conclusions. Unlike conventional “black box” approaches like machine learning, deep learning or neural networks that cannot explain their reasoning, Beyond Limits cognitive AI delivers clear explanations of its cognitive reasoning in transparent, evidence-based audit trails, including risk and uncertainties.
Beyond Limits cognitive AI technology combines conventional numeric AI with advanced symbolic logic for human-like reasoning to improve insights, inform decision-making, and reduce risk at the point of care. The company’s technology is considered to be a cognitive leap beyond conventional AI to a human-like ability to perceive, understand, correlate, learn, teach, reason and solve problems faster than existing AI solutions.
